Bachelor's · 4 years · Tribhuvan University

Overview

BBS is Tribhuvan University's annual-system business degree and by enrolment the largest bachelor program in Nepal. Its stated objective is to develop competent managers for any sector of organised activity, covering accounting, business law, economics, finance, marketing and management. It is taught at constituent campuses in every province.

What the syllabus covers

  • Financial accounting and cost accounting
  • Business law and business communication
  • Microeconomics and macroeconomics
  • Fundamentals of marketing and management
  • Business finance and taxation
  • Final-year specialisation and project work

Who it suits

Students who need to earn while they study, and anyone for whom cost is the deciding factor — BBS is the most affordable recognised bachelor degree in Nepal by a wide margin. It is also the standard qualification behind a large share of Nepal's accounting and banking workforce.

Think twice if

You need structure to stay on track. The annual system means one set of examinations a year, little continuous assessment, and campuses where attendance is loosely enforced — completion rates are markedly lower than in semester programs. Results can also be delayed, which matters if you are working to a timeline for postgraduate applications abroad.

BBS compared to BBA

The syllabus overlap is large; the delivery is not. BBS asks you to be self-directed and rewards you with very low fees. BBA gives you teaching intensity, a smaller cohort and a predictable four-year finish, at many times the cost.

Eligibility and entrance

+2 or equivalent in any stream with a pass grade from a board recognised by Tribhuvan University. Most constituent campuses admit without an entrance examination.

Entrance

No entrance examination at most constituent campuses

On fees

We do not publish per-college fee figures, because they change every intake and a stale number is worse than none. Our cost guide explains how Nepali college fees are structured and what to ask before you pay.
