Pulchowk Full Fee or Thapathali Regular?

The IOE result is out and you have two options with very different price tags. How to think about campus prestige versus four years of fee pressure.

Every year the IOE results produce the same fork. Your rank is good enough for Pulchowk on full fee, or Thapathali on a regular seat.

One is the campus everyone talks about. The other is the one your family can comfortably afford.

This is the same shape of decision I covered in Computer Engineering vs Electronics Engineering, and the honest answer here rhymes with the one there.

Name The Real Question First

People frame this as “which campus is better.” That is not the question, and framing it that way leads you to the wrong answer.

The real question is: what does the fee difference actually cost your family over four years, and what do you get back for it?

Answer that honestly and the decision usually makes itself.

What The Full Fee Difference Buys

Fee structures change every year. The numbers above are indicative only — check the current official IOE and campus notices before you plan around them.

Where Pulchowk Genuinely Has An Edge

I’ll be straight about this rather than pretend the campuses are interchangeable.

Where The Edge Is Smaller Than People Think

Two Situations, Two Answers

Like the Computer vs Electronics decision, this comes down to which situation you are actually in.

Situation 1 — The full fee is affordable

If your family can cover it without strain, then fee is not the variable you should be optimising. Pick on campus fit, the course you want, and where you’d rather spend four years.

Situation 2 — The full fee is a real strain

The Thing That Decides Your Outcome

Four years from now, what separates you from your batchmates will not be the name on your campus gate. It will be:

What you built outside the syllabus
Which field you moved toward, and how early
Whether you used the four years or just survived them

I have watched this hold at Pulchowk, and I have watched it hold everywhere else. A motivated Thapathali student beats a coasting Pulchowk student every time, and it isn’t close.
