Government of Nepal Opens Applications for 2081 Scholarship Programs

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has officially opened applications for multiple scholarship programs for the academic year 2081/82.

Available Scholarship Programs

1. Dhruva Scholarship

The Dhruva Scholarship covers full tuition plus a monthly stipend of NPR 10,000 for top-performing students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Deadline: Asadh 31, 2081

2. Technical Education Scholarship

This scholarship targets students pursuing diploma and technical programs through CTEVT-affiliated institutions.

Deadline: Shrawan 15, 2081

3. Province-level Merit Scholarship

Each provincial government is offering merit scholarships for students from their respective provinces pursuing bachelor’s programs at Nepali universities.

Deadline: Varies by province (Shrawan – Bhadra 2081)

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a Nepali citizen
• Household income below NPR 6,00,000 per year
• Minimum 65% aggregate in previous board exams
• No other active scholarship

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the Scholarship Management Information System (SMIS) at scholarship.moest.gov.np. Supporting documents including income certificate, mark sheets, and citizenship must be uploaded in PDF format.
